Along flat ground: It allows the rider to propel him/herself forward by pumping. Uphill: The rider can use both feet for propulsion (by skating with one and pushing down on the board with the other). Downhill: Increased speeds can be achieved when skating is not an option. Longbow is serious fun. It is a working and proven design, future concepts and design developments will improve upon this even further. The heel portion of the shoe which is stored within the sole, is made from a shape memory alloy which 'remembers' two different shapes. By touching the pink blossom detail at the back of the shoe (a camouflaged button) a current is passed through the heel, allowing the heel to transform from a flat to a curve, flicking it instantly backwards creating an arch and the 'high heeled' effect. 'Hylo' is the shoe for the 21st century woman who is always on the go and needs to change from a heel to a flat at the touch of a button and still look elegant with ease.

THE EXPLORER BY MARTIN VONGREJ

When you want to get from place A to place B, it isn't often possible to use one type of transport. This aims to reduce the number of skaters in heavily crowded areas, through providing different structures, i.e. a ramp, grind box or rolling block. The system consists of seven aluminium-polyethylene composite sheets along with a grinding panel. The panels fold flat to be contained in a carry case, allowing the user to transport the system on their back. Exactly how the film crew were able to capture this amazing stunt remains a secret, but John Quarrey, director of London-based Krow Communications, which dreamed up the advertisement, did reveal that the car was dropped from 20 metres on to the trampoline.

The scene perfectly captures the new Series 2 Grande Punto’s latest ‘Engineered To Entertain’ banner.

“If a car that can bounce off a trampoline isn’t both well made and entertaining, nothing is!” says John Quarrey. “We wanted a new, challenging advert for Grande Punto showing that the car is brilliantly made but also great fun.

“We also wanted to include important information about the features and finance, so people see there is substance and incentive behind the seductive shape.”

It took the cast one and a half days to rehearse and get the choreography right before filming started. The advert was directed by Michael Gracey alongside visual effects artist Pete Commins, who together have worked with Charlotte Church, Will Young, Natasha Bedingfield and Sugarbabes.”

View Video
Format: mov
Duration: 00:40

Fiat set Euro record for CO2 emissions

Great news hot off the press - Fiat has recorded the lowest average CO2
emissions for all our vehicles sold in 2007. Impressive stuff, we’re
sure you’ll agree!

This doesn’t just mean that we have set a new standard; it also means
that we are now ahead of such names as Peugeot, Citroën, Renault, Ford,
Toyota, Volkwagen, BMW… the list goes on.

Fiat prides itself on providing a great response to limiting the impact
of transport on the environment, but how important is that when you’re
considering buying a new car? Is your impact on the environment top of
your checklist?
