Hi buying a new 500 with roof stickers, any advice re fading

    Hi there

After years of driving BMW's and being ripped off (£80 to change 2 lightbulbs to pass the MOT!) it's time to change. Lots of test drives have led me to fall in love with the 500 1.2 sport. I love it!

I've specced it out and one of the options I like is the italian stripe across the roof - bonnet (I've gone for the glass roof so it's only half a stripe)

I'm just wondering if anyone has has issues with them fading quickly in the sunlight  and maybe suggest an alternative or if it's easy to get it changed after time?

Thanks all and a great forum!

Hi Timster & welcome to the forum!  My Freddie has the Italian side stripe down the side and so far I've not had any fading issues....mind you we've not really had enough sunlight in which to fade them!

I was really worried when we had all the snow and a blanket I had put over him was stuck to the car & I thought I was pulling off the stripe but no it was fine.

    Hi zanadoo.

Thanks for replying, really appreciated. I happened to see a 500 this weekend as well 2 years old witht eh sticker on the side and the roof. It looked fine.

So it looks like its game on. I'm really looking forward to owning one of these cars. It's bizarre as I have had soft tops, sports cars etc, however the 500 just seems to have a personality of its own! If i explain that to non 500 owners they think I'm nuts, but I see it as their loss

    Cheers.

so another convert ..lets hope fiat deliver ...they have a winner  ,it probably has a better resale value than a roller ...fiat just need tro tighten up on the build quality so it's consistent ,and the big failure  ...the dealer network....being in the trade ,fiats training which i know is second to none ,but unfortunately  fiat have no control over the people/muppets  the dealers employee...fiat recently tested their technicians  with an online exam, that way they see what systems mechanics are weak on ...which appears to fitting a nut on  a bolt ..lolcan't blqme fiat for the people dealers employee

500 1.2 sport. Pasodoble Red. Side rubbing strips with 500 logo. Glass roof. Italian Strip across roof and bonnet (Well half of roof, should be discounted!) 50/50 split seats.

Tried the 5ooc Loads of winds noise on motorway, with roof up. Not good at all.

Found that some of the saleman as well are right Knobs. They have already been told as well via my missus!
