Hi all,
Having had the joy of owning Betty for nearly 3 weeks, we've had a couple of Blue&Me issues. Reading forums, seems the problems are common.
- Blue&Me will not listen to me at all anymore. Can't use the phone through Blue&Me as can't be heard. Seems the mic has packed up.
- When listening to the Ipod, after about a week, when you skipped to the next song, it would display the name but not play. On the advice of someone, I disconnected the battery quickly, and tried again, and all was well and all songs played as normal.....for about another 5 days. Same problem, had to disconnect the battery and reconnect to resolve this. Not sure what's causing this but something that shouldn't happen.
- Can be a bugger to start sometimes.
- Got out the other day, when the left indicator started going crazy for about 2 seconds. Couldn't identify what the problem was though.
- The left indicator sometimes switches off automatically as it should, sometimes it doesn't, so have to cancel it myself.
- Average fuel consumption is 38mpg (for a 1.2). Got a feeling this is a little low?
- What a pain to keep the rear clean!!!! However much I hate the look of them, I think we'll be getting some mudflaps.
Just a quick question, does anyone recommend a service after 1,000 or so miles? Think it's just an oil change and general check-up....has anyone done this?
Booked in for next week so we'll see what the dealer has to say.
Other than that, nice drive.
Hi Wrigley
I have had my car for 9 weeks and I am experiencing some of the problems you are. My Blue&Me doesn't seem to work anymore when anybody rings I can hear them but they can't hear me. The other day I actually tried to use my phone (not through the Blue&Me) whilst in my car and my phone wouldn't work at all. My left indicator sometimes doesn't switch off automatically. I am also considering getting mud flaps as my car looks filthy after it has been cleaned 5 minutes after driving it. Apart from these things I really love it though. :o)
hi folks
i haven't a clue about the blue and me issues ..my grande is 06 plate and never had an issue with blue and me...possible due to having a 10cd disc changer in the boot ,maybe it's having problems with being able to carry out all the tasks it was designed for ..ie ipod etc ..there have been multiple reports of mic packing up...think a new mic is out ..though i would imagine both your cars would have the latest mic
point to note the voice is female ,and as such won't listen or reply to anyone anyway ,so the system is probably ok lol
all my fiats have had problems with self cancelling indicators ..on approaching a roundabout they cancel when you want them to stay on and then stay on when exiting ,when you want them to cancel lol...no doubt that isn't an issue in italy as they rely on main beam flash and the horn to indicate their intentions ....lol
ehhh .....must ask how can your car get dirty in suffolk ????....always sunny there
disconnecting the battery usually resets the ecu's...hence everything will work again ..has anyone foned a dealer to se what they have to say ???
phil
Hi Wrigley,
I read your post yesterday with a slightly smug expression as my Blue&Me has been working with no problems (although I haven't got beyond pairing up my phone, I haven't tried to get the voice bit working as I rarely get calls in the car). Then this morning, Toot failed to recognise my iPod or my Ecodrive USB stick! Serves me right.
I think disconnecting the battery seems rather drastic so I'm hoping that all will magically work on my drive home tonight. Otherwise I'll call the dealer and see what they have to say.
And Phil - enough of the sexism!
sexism me ???? shock horror lol...me thinks the lads on here chuckle ..it's all good fun
as you say disconnecting the battery is drastic ,and it is best to take the car to a dealer ..though it can help engine issues in an emergency ,and even though it will clear the fault ,it will then put the fault from pendingerrors to stored errors ,so the error code to assist the dealer in diagnosis is still there ....i will suggest that you note the time and date of warnings and how often the warning comes on ..as you sometimes have multiple stored errors ,which don't always put on a warning ..some faults will give time and date of occurrence ..so the more info you give the dealership the better your chance,as it isn't always a case of plugging in a laptop and fixing it ..obviously the examiner is required ,the mechanic has to undestand what it is telling them...
Hi Capirossi
You can see a list of Blue&Me compatible phones at http://195.88.6.192/blue_and_me/tab_com.html the list is not very up to date, but your car will come fitted with the newer version of Blue&Me which was developed to be compatible with a greater number of mobile phones.
Kind regardsFiat Marketing
I'm a bit baffled by the Blue&Me phone thing, but as I don't really need it I haven't persued it too much. I have a Nokia 6300 which is quite an old model now, but there are loads of them about and the list isn't entirely clear as to what it should or shouldn't do. It pairs up and exchanges contacts but doesn't do anything when texts come in. I've been through all the menus and can't see any configuration settings for it (apart from visual or audible prompting) so I fugure it just doesn't work.
As long as my iPod stays working (which it still is, no problems since the one reported above) I'm happy!
hi
i've not longed changed from a nokia 6230 ,and it worked perfectly with blue and me ,read texts etc...how old is you fiat??? when i got mine text reader wasn't out so i had to download and install it
Hi Mungus
Generally speaking most Nokia phones don't support the message reader function, so I suspect this may be the case here.
Hi Mungus........I use two phones, as I had trouble using my main Motorola V(whatever number it is).....so I use my old pay as you go which can do everything in the car....including reading messages etc...
......not really a solution but it's great hearing the messages read out, especially when someone puts an 'x' at the end of the text message which Freddie (the car) reads out as 'kisses'!!
