    Fiat courtesy cars
Hi all, i have just booked my car in for a knocking noise on my bravo and told them that i need a courtesy car, they said fine but that i would need to sort out my own fully comp insurance for there courtesy car, is this the norm for everyone as i dont think this is fare as the knocking noise is a fault with the car and it will cost me to change my insurance even though it will only be for 2 days.

    Hello

When I had to take my 500 in to the dealer & get a courtesy car (a Citroen C1 - just don't get me started on that!) I didn't have to sort anything out with the insurance.  I would go back to them & speak to someone else as that surely can't be right.

I have had to take out cover before when my Defender went in warranty work.  The two courtesy cars I have had when Cadbury went in, one I had to take out cover the other I didn't have to.

What really bugs me about courtesy cars is.... they always come with an empty fuel tank.

the courtesy car insurance varies from dealer to dealer...allto do with cost of the policy  ,some dealers only let certain tech roadtest...

I took my Bravo into the Stockport dealer for warranty work in December and their courtesy car insurance was £10 a day.  I phoned Fiat head office to complain but they refused to do antything about it and said each dealer charges their own insurance amount.  I managed to negotiate a 50% reduction from the Stockport dealer so I paid £5 per day but I still resent this as it was warranty work.

They tried te same wit me, I can sort of understand for a service - thought they are making plenty of money out of italready. But when it comes to warranty work a courtesy car should be just that... On top the courtesy cars are normally dogs which just advertise that the service department can't even maintain the cars that are based at the garage... endlessly reported faults to them.

Oh and the Citroen courtesy curse? Had that, I assume the dealers are tired of fixing Puntos!
