I picked up my new 500 just over 2 months ago now & the car has been back to the dealer 3 times already with bluetooth problems and also a faint beeping noise which i notice when braking and sometimes cornering. At first my dealer told me I was the first person that mentioned this problem & they didn't know what it was, now they tell me it is my ABS pump valves resignating with the speakers and Fiat are aware of the problem but have no fix! They also now tell me all fiat 500's do it but I find this hard to believe as can find very little info about it.  They have advised that it does not affect the car in anyway but will not put this in writing. Has anyone else had this noise and if so been able to get the problem fixed?

did the dealer say why he wouldn't give you it in writing???  i'd go back and since they all do it go out in one of the other 500's they have and get them to demonstrate it ...personally i think it's incompetence ...not all faults are easy to trace and rectify ...and what i imagine is happeneing is warranty won't pay them if they can't rectify the fault ...so use the "they all do that it's a quirk of the car "...phone and log fault with fiat uk..and keep a record of times dates and all communications who you have spoken to and what they say...and  if possible try another dealer

are you braking when you are cornering as well??? would love to know how they came to the conclusion it was the abs pump

I've logged it with fiat customer services now & been back into the dealer again who promised to look into & then didn't bother calling me back, fiat customer services got back to me to say problem has been escalated to fiat Italy. It makes the noise when I corner sometimes & my feet are not touching the brake pedal at all so is it really a fault with the ABS??   My concern is I only have their verbal sayso it is not a safety issue & not wearing any part of my car or causing any long term damage. Would be really interested to hear if any fiat 500 owners have come across this problem!

I've noticed the beeping noise on my wife's 1.2 Pop (I don't think she has!).  Can't say it particularly worries me, but I would like to know what it is.  Have you had any more feedback from your dealer?

Hi, I have got a 15 month old 1.2 lounge at present, i heard the beeping noise when i first purchased the vehicle, i asked the dealer if they knew what it was, and mentioned it is when i used the brakes. they said that it was a audio ABS  warning signal, to let me know that the ABS was activated, i have since looked into it further and i would agree with the answer they gave me.

being in the trade .... their answer ,though i may be wrong ,doesn't make sense ...ABS only activates when it sees 1 or more wheels locking....which you don't need a bleep for ,...as you feel it through the pedal as it kicks back ,as the system releases and applies the brakes..in all my years of driving i have only ever  had it activate once  this month and  in january  ,and strangly both times whist approaching the same roundabout ..ABS  is a electronic version of cadence braking,as when your wheels locked you then release and reapplied the brakes ..ie pumped the brake pedal...

p.s have been fixing vehicles longer than i care to remember ...wish i coud get out the trade lol

My 500 multijet lounge is 21 months old and I've never heard any beeping.  Sounds like the dealer is fobbing you off is there another one you can try?  Good luck.
