hi kirsty
every little bit of info helps ..how old is our punto ??? being a mechanic myself (not fiat) i can't think of where the washer would be ,but think now is the time for fiat to enlighten us ,since the dealer has obviously admitted there is a recall due ,though i don't think it is a serious one ,as we would have been informed ...sounds more of a " if you see this car carry out recall" there is various types of recalls some serious some not and they won't affect the car what so ever
Got my recall notice this week off VOSA, and yes it is listed on the VOSA website look at Grande Punto not the Punto Grande listing.
hi found the recall ...just amazed it's taken over 3 years to find the fault..since it seems to be an incorrectly torqued bolt ...is it a case of tools in the factory are not being recalibrated / checked as often as they should ...or have they found that the original design torque is inadequate...if possible i'd prefer to take my car to a FIAT PROFESSIONAL dealer...thats the van dealer side, i wasn't being funny
Here's the link if anyone wants to have a look VOSA Recalls... not only Grande Punto but any make or model is listed on this site.
http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/searches/search.asp?whichpage=2&pagesize=10&resultString=(FIAT GRANDE PUNTO) for the date range 01/1/1992 to 01/12/2010&tx=VOSA
hi
your service book should be stamperd in the recall section ...if the car is up to date there will be a max of 3 stamps 2 for steering and 1 for knee protection ...if your not sure ,give fiat a call ,give them your chassis number and they will confirm if any are outstanding ..
any fiat dealer should be able to check the vehicle history ...best bet is to call fiat uk ..though in my handbook the number is incorrect ..lol...there are loads of posts on here with a contact number..try the search facility on here
