Hello Everyone,

Now I am finally the proud owner of my lovely 500 I want to upgrade my phone and want to make sure that I get a phone which enables me to get the most out of Blue & Me including the message reading feature. I have looked at the list of compatible phones but it doesn't really seem to cover any up to date phones I am interested in, in fact I currently have a samsung U900 (Soul) which I have had for almost 18 months and can't even find that on there.

So, I was wondering whether anyone knew whether either the Sony Ericsson Satio or the HTC Hero were fully compatible or not? My dealer told me basically the more advanced the technology of the phone the less likely it is to work. If these aren't compatible then I may go for something like the Sony W995.

Does anyone have any other ideas/advice about this?

I have the SE W595 works perfectly. 

Food for thought... if you get a phone and it is not compatible you have the right to send it back (check within how many days tho)

I have tried and tried to get my sony ericsson T303 to work with blue and me but it is havinbg none of it. Cadbury, when you say that the sony ericsson W595 works perfectly does that mean all features including the message reader? I just want to be sure that it works before I buy one! On my current phone I can't even get it to sync the phone book?

The updated version is the W995 which, if you compare the two phones using the link above, seem to be identical.  My son has the W995 and it is an improvement on the W595. 

I've recently bought an LG cookie (touch screen) which works quite well. It paired without any problems, however I haven't tried out the message reader.

The only drawback so far is when I ask it to call "Home" it wants to call my son "Paul" for some reason ----- must be my Cumbian accent confusing it!  ;-)

No it aint !!   'Doris' always gets the names wrong on !

Thanks for your advice on getting the W595, I decided against the W995 as my sister couldn't get hers to pair with Monty. My W595 arrived today and I eagerly set it up, all of the features work great except for the message reader, it just says no messages for message reader and inbox. If it works fine on yours Cadbury, how can I sort it on mine? Did it work straight away for you? Should I try pairing it again?

'Doris' asks if I want the message read when it is received.  Get your sister to send you a text whilst you are in the car (with your phone of course !)

Thanks, I will try that when I am out in the car later. If you click on 'read last' or 'inbox' does 'Doris' say that you have messages (ones received when not in the car for example)? Also is there any way that the blue and me voice can be changed to a man's voice as Monty is having serious gender issues, talking with such a feminine tone, I want him to sound like kit from night rider!

blue and me can only read texts received when you fone is in the car and connected to ,and me as they texts are stored in the cars blue and me ecu ..think the capacity is 20 then it deletes the old ones as new ones arrive

I have a W595 and everything works great! Only think i have a problem with is that when i have an incoming call just the phone number displays and not the callers name.  Does anyone else have this problem? Has anyone managed to sort it?

Santa bought me a lovely red 500c, and i'm loving it!!

Hi Jo... the name appears of my caller...  gawd knows how I managed it !   Have you downloaded your phonebook to Blue&Me?   Have a look in the Troubleshooting section Page 60 of the Blue&Me Handbook.

I have downloaded my phone book, when i make a call it shows the name but just the number on an incoming call!!  Also i noticed today that some texts show name and some just number!!!

 

Hi Jo.......I too have a mixture of numbers & names for incoming texts.......although I do have names for incoming & outgoing calls.......to be honest I'm just glad it all works!
