Something positive about Fiat dealers for a change. TJ Vickers (Shrewsbury & Telford) Organised a treasure hunt for 500 owners in order to raise funds for the Severn Hospice. 35 Fiat 500's took part, and after four hours or so, had covered about 106 miles. It was a lot of fun, especially watching other drivers going completely the wrong way! This was the second event TJ Vickers had organised, and they plan to do the same thing next year, hopefully with more 500's ;-)
Here's a link to some pictures.

I think this event was organised by the Telford branch, still, if your niece bought her car from the same branch as us, I'm surprised they didn't write to her as well.
Looking at your last sentence Phil, I take it that your niece's experience with the Shrewsbury dealer has been less than impressive?
hi again my neice hasn't had any probs with her car ,it's my sis and her grande that are having the problems with the shrewsbury branch ....maybe the next treasure hunt will be a competent mechaic ..i won't label them as technicians after some of the stuff they come out with

Sorry to hear that. We'll find out in due course I suppose. I mentioned somewhere else that work colleagues in the Telford are who were ardent Fiat enthusiasts nearly all migrated to other marques because they were unhappy with the poor service they received. There was another thread on this forum that made it clear it wasn't just Vickers though, suggesting that quite a few Fiat dealers generally weren't very good. Time will tell.
hi
well got a call from my sis ..... apparently tj vickers ahve found a water logged sensor ....not sure if it as anything to do with a call i had with sis and i got it out here that the fault was mainly related to the weather ...though when i said to her it sounds like water ingress and the best idea is to remove all the plugs check for water in the sensors etc ,then apply vaseline and refit the plug ...when she mentioned this to vickers they where not impressed told her they will fix it there way .....they have since foned to say they have found water in a sensor ...which personally i would replace ...but guess what they are going to apply vaseline then silicone the plug in ...personally vaseline is adequate ..if you want an added seal then a piece of heat shrink over the plug and sensor would suffice...amazing how an idea i gave was given the heave ho then used .....also they say the sensor they replaced fiat billed them for ...now i find this strange if not cow brown stuff ...being in the trade ...fair enough not with fiat ..but i know for fact if for example a gearbox is changed under warranty before the dealer is paid they have to quote a code inside the bellhousing ..which i imagine will relate to when the box was made to prevent people putting old boxes on new vehicles to claim warranty ..yes it does happen.....anyway i find it hard to believe vickers paid for the sensor previously changed..can only surmise vickers paid for it as they made a mis-diagnosis .and when fiat checked the sensor they found no fault ..this is not to say vickers got it wrong ...as i did a gearbox repair and the warranty was rejected ,( i do trucks ) after i,my boss the gearbox manufacturer rep ,and abig wig from the truck manufacturer went to the factory ,note the customer was happy with my repair .... i pointed to the failed part ,and the gearbox manufacturer agreed and paid us ...as i said people are paid to save money ,and you have o prove them wrong ..i am getting the fault codes ..suprisingly after 3 visits vickers can only supply 1 fault code mmmm..they are blaming fiat which i know is cow pat ...so once i get the relevant info i will call fiat and if required vickerss......to me it sounds like rectification of faulty workmanship...at the moment i do not hold fiat responsible ...i just think vickers are quiet happily in the middle of a cow field ( can't be rude on here as kids could be reading various forums to learn ertc mind you the probably know better descriptions than me lol)
