    ECO:DRIVE & MPG

Ok..Ok..   Told you I was thick when it comes to computers !!!!   Have downloaded 'Eco:drive' on to memory stick. Inserted it into car and 'Polly' has told me that download complete.  Every time I re-insert memory stick into USB port, it tells me 'download' complete.

Question:  How do I 'upload' statistics back onto memory stick to view statistics  ????

At present, my calculations are that I have completed 242 miles and have used 24.94 ltrs. Basic calculations suggest Cadbury is only doing 44mpg of which 80 miles are motorway driving.

Would appreciate how to upload statistics to join the Eco:Village and learn what I am doing wrong !     H EL P

Got the same problem. Every time I switch the ignition on I am told the system is updating, then says update complete, then asks me to remove the memory stick. But I already installed it once!!! :(

Remove the setup file from the USB stick - if the USB stick has a setup file on it and you start the car, the Blue&Me will install it - whether it has it or not. Remove it and then put the stick back in the socket - see if that helps.

I tried removing the installation (.CAB) file from the iFiat diretory some days ago but got a CONFIG ERROR reported on the cluster. When I put the file back the error went away, but I still get the updating message????

    Re: ECO:DRIVE & MPG

This was the official fix recommended by FIAT .. I have yet to try it ...

    "Dear customer,

Thank you for your feedback. To solve your problem you have to delete the eco:Drive files from you USB key and uninstall the application from your computer.Once you have done that you need to restart the installation process.

    Best Regards

    Re: ECO:DRIVE & MPG

Do not know how I managed it....but I did.    Bit disappointed with the fuel consumption, states I am getting 44mph and that is with two long motorway runs.  Perhaps it will get better.  After 30+ year driving, it is telling me I am too heavy in first and second gear !  Hey ho.... times will be a changing !

Thanks for the help tho, much appreciated

    Hi Guys,

In theory the installer should remove itself automatically, but I guess this isn't happening. To fix the problem you are seeing, you can remove the install.inf file in the root directory of your USB Key.

     Hope that helps!

Can i ask what this post is about? It sound like you guys are talking about some kind of F1 style telemetry up/downloading? Can all Fiats with blue&me do this or is it just the eco models?

    Re: ECO:DRIVE & MPG

    Hi !

As far as I know, the only Fiats to have Blue&Me are the 500 and the Grande Punto.  Fiat launched 'Eco:Drive' this month which had to be installed onto the Blue&Me onboard.  That was what I was having problems with.  If you go to the Home page, there is a link which explains Eco:Drive.

    Re: ECO:DRIVE & MPG

It is a system that collects data from your car as you drive and it suggests ways to improve consumption and performance as it interogates the data once it has been downloading from car to computer.

Currently only works on the 500 (and perhaps the Grande Punto) with other models with Blue&Me getting it next year (which is a right pain as I'm very interested in it for the Bravo).

You install it via the USB port and a memory stick to the car, remove the .inf file and then give it some stick and see what it tells you...I've lost the URL for the Eco:Drive section on this site but it sounds quite interesting...goes much further than the onboard computer settings can tell you i.e. suggesting you may be chaning up a bit later than would be acceptable which has a knock on affect on fuel consumption etc.

Thanks Adam .. I couldn't see the wood for the trees. The .INF file was hidden amongst all my other music files. Good old Windows (CE) Mobile :-S! Got rid of it and all is OK now. Cheers.
