I go to a very friendly official Fiat dealership (I'll name and shame later) I chose a lovely ex-demo 1.3 multijet Lounge in Cha Cha Cha Azure 2700 miles and got a reasonable (not great). They then tell me a pole fell on the panoramic roof and cracked the top layer, I had to wait 2 further weeks for this to get fixed and luckily it did. I then go to pick up the car and notice the alloys are severely scratched another week wait for these to get fixed. I take the car away finally happy until I notice a few stains on the seat where it's obviously been severely abused with drink and food. I then notice after cleaning the car that the paint finish is strange, there appears to be an extra layer all over the vehicle making the paint feel rough, this was also apparent on every inch of the car including the windows, lights, chrome...everything. I call the dealership voicing my concerns and they apologise and I take it back to be fixed however, it's now much, much worse, whatever they've used to relieve this excess layer (looks like some sort of machine buffer) they've left scratches and circular marks on the bonnet, roof, chrome and just about everywhere. I'd just like to say at this point that I was very sceptical about them removing this without affecting the paint but, I thought I'd give them a chance. On top of this they've obviously attempted to clean the stains from the seats and left water marks, dark patches and looks really, really awful.
I'm in desperate need for advice now and really didn't want to bring Fiat personally into this situation however, after 2 and half months of grief my patience is wearing thin and I feel I have no other choice but to pursue with full intent. Could someone tell me...
A) Is this covered on paint warranty?
B) Should my seats be replaced with new fabric?
C) Am I entitled to a refund and look elsewhere which, I'd be more than happy doing as I absolutely adore the 500.
D) Am I entitled to a replacement 500 with exactly the same spec?
It's such a shame it's had to come to this but I can't just lie down and take it, I spent allot of money and the quality is nothing short of terrible.
Regards.
NOT GOOD!!!!!
Have you got this resolved yet or do you still need some help???
Not resolved yet, the defects are becoming worse, have to take the car in tomorrow because the car is veering to one side when I brake and there's a harsh 'chemically' smell coming through the air con. Also one thing that I am missing is a full vehicle status report, I have received these from VW,Vauxhall and Ford in the past but just out of coincidence they forgot to give me one with the paperwork which, seriously raises suspicion.
I have written to the manager of the dealership I purchased my 500 from, who says he passed my complaint on to the area/regional manager but he hasn't cc's me in or shown any evidence that he has passed my complaint on. I try and contact Fiat HQ and they don't appear to know how to pick up a phone.
It is a shame because I was going to buy another 500 for my other half next year because she needs a nice new motor for her business and my parents were also going to buy one after seeing mine, since then I have strongly advised my parents to hold back and completely lost confidence in Fiat at the moment to go out and buy another 500.
Please for the love of customers, FIAT can you advise me on what I should do, this is your site, this is your forum and surely you should reply.

Hi,i also have the same problem in march i brought an ex demo fiat 500 abarth, the day i went to collect the car it had not been cleaned or prepared in any way for the hand over, there was still the sticky residue on the window screen where the price label had been and they had just pulled it off and not even bothered to clean it off! after this i decided to take a futher look around the car as i did i noticed a number of scratches on the car, when i told this to the salesman he was not the slightest bit bothered, all they said is that they will sort out the scraches and woteva else was needed to be done so i took the car and it was left as that it then came around that i needed a new bonnet and the back bumper needed to be resprayed to get rid off the scratch and i also needed a new interior as this was scratched! anyway this was all sorted and the manger gave it the ok and it was given back to me now my car is full of overspray and the paint work is ruff and where they tried and failed to solve the problem i have a smuge mark on the back of my car, i love my car to bits never had a fiat before and will now never be buying another they cudnt even offer me a free service or any money off a free service which i think is disgusting seein as i have spent over £16000 with them.
