Hi Guys/Gals,

 

I'm keen to buy a new 500 sometime soon (my current car has hit 105k miles) and I was planning on the 1.2 Sport as it sounds from reviews like this is the best engine - but I know Fiat have been working on a new 1 litre 2-cylinder which sounds like it will outdo all the existing engine options! (Better economy than the 1.2, similar power to 1.4 with more torque).

Does anyone know when this is likely to be available?? I've heard a few things but can't find any firm details... I'd like to buy a car this year but will be keeping it for 3 years+ so don't really want a duffer that will be out of date as soon as that new engine comes!!

The new engine will debut in the new Topalino, but it is still unsure as to when that will be available. It is possible it will be mid next year, but we will get it 6 months behind Italy and France (as we always do!!!!)
