500C - Marks on interior of roof!

Hi, does anybody else have a problem with staining on the inside of the convertible roof?

I've had my lovely car a year now and had been noticing grey marks on the cream interior of my black roof, running in line with the metal frame. I happened to mention it to the garage when I took the car in for its 1st year's service. To make matters worse, they jet-washed it, which not only made the stains more prominent but also caused a leak. They took photos and said that the roof would be  replaced. That was on the 20th July.

However, Fiat have since introduced a 'Tutorship'  on the roofs which comes into effect today, so no new roof. I believe a 'Tutorship' is introduced when more than just a few cars suffer the same problem and they have to investigate thoroughly. So, no new roof until further tests, or problem rectified. So, maybe no new roof after all!

I know there is another Fiat 500 owner with the same problem at this franchise, but would like to hear from anybody who is also experiencing a similar kind of staining on the inside of the roof.

if it needs a new roof then it needs it, let them by all means try and clean it or whatever but in the end it will need a new roof or headcloth.

Hi, I have only just ordered a 500 (not a C, unfortunately), so I don't have any experience with the Fiat roof, but I've got a Citroen Pluriel now, which is also prone to getting stains on the interior of the roof because it picks up dirt from the rear windscreen when it's fully opened. So now I always make sure I clean the rear windscreen before opening the roof... I know the 500 roof works a bit differently, but perhaps it's a similar kind of problem?
