    Fiat 500 rustproofing?

    Hello,

Anyone here know how susceptible 500s are to rust? I've got a couple of stone chips on my car, and am really quite worried about whether it'll rust! I've used a touch up stick to patch them up, but it's still a concern. I've got to say, the paintwork on this thing seems to be of a pretty low quality compared to the other cars we've had.

The original 500s were very susceptible to rust !  Ask me again in a few years and I'll let you know if Cadbury has got rust.  I am hoping the Supaguard helps protect the paintwork for a few extra years.  I haven't heard many people mentioning the paintwork

I had the Supaguard stuff (at least, I think it was applied), and it doesn't seem to have helped at all. Of course, I could have been swindled.

Mine's white, and shows up all sorts of dirt really quickly, including tiny, rusty coloured specks. Not to mention the chips.

I use the anti acid rain shampoo that came in the Supaguard bag... I think it's brilliant...seems to repel dirt.  Put 'rusty specks' in the search box.. I am sure this was mentioned before.

I use that too, and it's pretty good. Also had to use the bird-poop spray a couple of times. I'm just a little worried that the paint-sealant that was supposed to be applied hasn't. It's not really possible to tell, is it? The specks do come off, but they can take quite a bit of effort to remove.

Either way, I wouldn't recommend getting one in white!
