I probably shouldn't reply as I've had a couple of drinks, but Cadbury do you realise how patronising you sound? Some of us are excited about getting a new car. I've never ever had a brand new car before and I expect that I will never ever will so let me enjoy the fact that my new car is only a week away........
PS it's not the first time that I've wanted to say this, the last time was that you were BORED of people getting excited about their new cars.....
You definitely misunderstood my comment 'How sad', probably the alcohol.
How sad.... that you are not OVER-EXCITED, I certainly was !
With regard to the PS comment... No, I wasn't BORED of people getting excited about their new car, I just gave you ammunition of delivery status to fire at the dealers so that didn't fob you off regarding when your new cars may arrive.
Yeah, your right Zanadoo... I should have elaborated on 'How sad' and added... that you are not over-excited.
Apologies
Zanadoo and Bain, I am well excited for you and justly so. I have had mine for nearly a week and oy, am I loving it. It is so sweet! My collegue descibed it as lush, my neighbours wife is now ugging him to get her taht one and honestly it is just a dream.
In fairness to Cadbury, he has always championed the cause of us 'waiters' and did provide the status codes wich has made the waiting process more transparent and fun. Unfortunate use of word 'bored' in a previous post but hey, what is this forum for, if not to get excited aout our new car- 'New Memers Talk?' Come on guys, keep whipping up the frenzy in the name of the lush 500. It deserves it!!!
Thanks for that Tantymerle, appreciated !
I looked back on my past post and I actually said in the DELIVERY STATUS post... 'it is boring hearing people SAY 'only ?weeks' or 'I can't wait'... least this ways they get EXCITED when it moves to the next status and it keeps dealers on the ball'.
Have you given it a name yet Tanty? I do hope it is not LUSH (that word has a completely different meaning in my neck of the woods!!! )
Shelley ('he' is a 'she') haha
PS Good luck for tomorrow
Just wanted to wish Tantymerie good luck for today.
It should be 9 weeks until the delivery of my Panda 1.1 Active Eco - I was given an estimated delivery time of 8-12 weeks, I am working on the longer timescale so that (hopefully) I'm not disappointed. The past 3 weeks have really dragged, it's worse than being pregnant!! We have never had a brand new car, so there is great anticipation in our household; the girls are trying to come up with a name for it. Is that just a female thing, or do men name their cars too?! My husband thinks we are all very sad (this is going to be a car for us girls, he has his own!)
BRING ON THE GIRLS... YEAH... YEAH !!!
What spec you gone for ? And no... it is not a female thing to name a car. On another forum there are fellas who have christened their cars with some really good names. Cadbury resembles a cube of chocolate, or a tortoise, or a baby elephant !!
Check out the STATUS CODE... it might make it go quicker !
We have gone for the Mambo Yellow (the girls said I need that colour so it is easy to spot in a car park - I really though my old blue Astra had been stolen the other day!) with the black cloth interior, a 3rd rear seatbelt, a normal sized spare wheel (hubby said I should get that) the smoking kit (not that I smoke, but I thought it would be useful to have) and the side bumper strips. I am still deciding whether to have the parking sensor and the Supagard.
My dealer didn't seem to have any knowledge of the status codes, so I have no idea where it's at. I feel really guilty about scrapping my Astra, it might be old but it actually runs very well!
I don't know how I got to talking about a Panda on a 500 post - however, in my defence, my first car was one of the original Fiat 500s, it was red and I loved it. People used to poke fun at it all the time, but they certainly seem to be in fashion now. The newer model is a lot bigger than mine was. I sold it on to a young girl and saw it all smashed up at the side of a roundabout a week later :( but fortunately she was okay.
It isn't just THE 500 DELIVERY RACE but any car. The status codes apply all vehicles. I am surprised your dealer doesn't know about them. Have a chat with the MD of the dealership. Normal size spare wheel is a good choice, I have a 'space saver' but when Cadbury had a puncture it made her handle differently and really noisy, I didn't like it !
I also have Supaguard, whether it is the colour or Supaguard, but Cad doesn't seem to show the dirt.
Did you ever have a puncture in the red 500? Makes me laugh now that when you jacked them up to change a wheel, the whole side lifted off the ground. The petrol tank might have been small... but it lasted for ages ! Mine was called Aggy.
Keep in touch
Sorry to hear about your test; if it helps at all, I took mine 3 times so good luck for the next one, you can do it.
We have been thinking about names for our Panda, the girls want to call it Po after the hero in Kung Fu Panda, but all it reminds me of is the Teletubbies!
Tantymerle : I always think 'things happen for a reason'.
Buttercup: Let's face it, if Teletubby Po laid down, it would look like a 500 !
tantymerle: thanks for being excited for me :D! And sorry to hear that you failed your test :( You will pass next time I'm sure!
I've finally come up with a name for my 500. My best friend saw a sport in the same colours a few weeks ago, and said it looked like a sideways bumblebee, so my new 500 will be christened "Calabrone".
Can't wait!
Picked up my 500 (Freddie, although the reg makes him look more like a Pepe) today.....couldn't be more pleased!
Cadbury, apologies back to you.....just goes to show that 30+ degrees heat & Sangria don't mix - you have been very informative & knowledgeable & have always championed the newbies, so thanks.
