Great news hot off the press - Fiat has recorded the lowest average CO2 emissions for all our vehicles sold in 2007. Impressive stuff, we’re sure you’ll agree! This doesn’t just mean that we have set a new standard; it also means that we are now ahead of such names as Peugeot, Citroën, Renault, Ford, Toyota, Volkwagen, BMW… the list goes on. Fiat prides itself on providing a great response to limiting the impact of transport on the environment, but how important is that when you’re considering buying a new car? Fiat Group Automobiles Belgium are supporting a Belgian team in the ‘Rally Aicha des Gazelles’, which started last week and ends on the 27 March in Essaouira, Morocco.
The two drivers, Catherine Torgue and Samira Azmani, are participating in this 2008 event in a Fiat Sedici 1.9 MultiJet.
It’s been more than a year since Catherine and Samira started training for this extreme sporting event. The drive is unique as it is a women-only competition, and only ‘old’ navigation is permitted, using a compass and topographic maps.
Competing in the SUV category, and carrying the number 300, the pair will also show their humanitarian commitment by driving on behalf of the BWFN (Belgian Women Faith Network) association.
For this race, the Sedici has been modified to make work on the body easier, and during the Rally the Belgian team will also benefit from the assistance of Fiat Morocco.
