  • FIAT 500BYGUCCI TO MAKE SPECIAL APPEARANCE AT GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED

    Fiat’s stylish new 500byGucci model, which was launched at an exclusive party in London on Monday (27 June), will make a special appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend.

    The special edition of the iconic Fiat 500, which has been customised by Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini in partnership with Fiat’s Centro Stile, will make its first public appearance at the world famous classic car festival in a themed display within the stunning country grounds of the Goodwood estate, near Chichester.

    The Fiat 500byGucci will be situated at Goodwood’s Laundry Green from 1-3 July, as star attraction at the ChicNic – a contemporary and stylish summer picnic in breathtaking British surroundings. 

    The space will be transformed into a 500byGucci luxury retreat featuring immaculate rolling lawns, bridged by manicured gravel paths and framing a spectacular water feature. As croquet and boules are played on the lawn, guests will be able to relax with a luxury picnic and chilled glasses of bubbly under pristine white canopies.

  • Smile! For the 500 Thousandth 500

    The five-hundred thousandth 500 has rolled off the line: a huge success dedicated to the people who longed for it, designed it, and perhaps even bought it, just like you. To celebrate, we are creating 500 Thousandth, an exclusive one-of-a-kind car, and we’re giving you a special chance to be part of it. All you need to do is show your face! Are you ready to show your face? You can now book one of the 1500 places available and send us your best happy photo. But hurry up, as places are limited!

    Bookings for a place on the car will become available now. Click here and use the special application showing a plan view of the Fiat 500. A few minutes later, after registering, they can book one of the free spaces online by sending a photograph.
    Seventy per cent of the places are reserved for Fiat 500 owners. Users can also attach a short text describing their relationship with the car, or a link either to a personal video on YouTube or to their personal Facebook page.


    The showcar will be ready three weeks after the booking stage is concluded and will feature in forthcoming events and international motor shows. The Fiat 500 Thousandth will be the first ‘collective car’, a further confirmation of the spirit of the original model with potential customers being involved from the earliest stages of design.

  • Pink My Ride - Live!

    David Sheath (28) a former semi-professional footballer, is hoping to create history by becoming the first person to paint an entire car using nail varnish and earn himself a place in the Guinness Book Of World Records with the longest online advert ever.

    The record attempt, which is to be streamed live on the internet, could take him a week to complete.  David, who lives in London but is from Wales, will use over 200 pots of pink nail polish and a predicted 240,000 strokes in order to transform a white Fiat 500 to a Fiat 500 Pink.

    David is currently single and will live in a South London studio, until the car is completed.  He will communicate with the outside world using Twitter.

    David says: “I wanted a challenge since I recently split up with my girlfriend and do something no one has ever done before. If you want to give me a helping hand and earn you place in the history books just register on the website for the chance to come and join me!”

    Fiat is streamlining the fantastic '500C Feelgood playlist' created earlier this year, in an official mobile partnership with Spotify, the music sharing application.

    The playlist was generated by users adding more than 2,500 tracks (the equivalent of seven days of music). Now Fiat and Spotify are asking users to whittle down the list to create the Fiat 500C Feelgood 50 – the perfectly-sized playlist to enjoy on the move.

  • CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WINNERS!

    Hundreds of people visited the British Airways London Eye between 24 January and 3 February to configure their own unique Fiat 500 in our special design competition. Top prize was the chance to win the designed car, and five runner-up prizes of a Champagne trip in one of the Eye’s flight capsules were also up for grabs.

    Judging the competition proved a difficult task, but the winners have now been announced by London’s Design Museum.

    Donna Loveday – head of exhibitions at the Design Museum – selected the winning artists’ stunning designs, which are shown below along with her expert opinion on each of the entries.

    Cars in a silver finish are currently very popular, but Duncan’s combination of the colour azure with the addition of a chequered flag on the roof turns this into a smart and sporty city car. A range of options are offered with consideration given to interior and exterior detail. 

    The Champagne Capsule winners

    A near winner – green with the Italian flag stripe and black sun roof makes clear reference to Fiat’s Italian design heritage.

    The colour yellow combined with a black chequered flag on the roof turns this into a bright and very funky car, for those drivers who want to opt for something a little unconventional.

    A clever combination of blue with the Italian flag stripe creates a very attractive car.

    The colour blue with the addition of a white stripe and the number 5 immediately gives the car strong sporting associations.

    The subtle combination of black with a front stripe creates a very smart city car. A range of options are given, including automatic climate control.

  • There’s something in the air…

    It’s the morning after the night before, and what a night it was. Oh, yes - last night was London’s turn to welcome the stunning Fiat 500,.Thousands of people turned up to the glamorous event to be entertained by Mika, The Feeling and a host of Virgin Radio DJs.
    But, of course, the real star of the show was the Fiat 500! It took to the sky in a London Eye capsule at 8pm – exactly 500 hours into 2008
