The infamous Vans Downtown Showdown returns to Europe this summer to take over another major destination. London thought it had its hands full when Jack the Ripper stalked the streets but little did they know that they had just swung open the doors to an onslaught of Europe’s most notorious rippers. Historic heritage site: Old Spitalfields Market in East London (UK) has been confirmed as the venue for the third edition of the now legendary International Skateboarding Spectacle and the stage has been set for proceedings to turn sinister on Saturday, 20 August 2011.

A giant Fiat 500C – five times the normal size – is coming to the UK as part of a Europe-wide tour to promote the popular new convertible. The 5:1 scale model of the car has appeared before on Fiat’s International motor show stands around the world, but this latest version simulates the ‘open-top’ style of the 500C with a spectacular projection of the sky on to the inner lining of the car’s roof.
It’s coming to the centre of London for an event entitled 'The Big Smile', from 28 August until 2 September, and will be situated at a special venue called Parklife, on Oxford Street – one of the busiest shopping streets in the world.
The showcase will generate awareness of the new Fiat 500C and is designed to make people smile when they see it – much like the effect created when driving the real car. The summer mood of The Big Smile event will be enhanced by bright internal hoardings recreating park scenes, deckchairs and plants, while roaming entertainers, free competitions to win the loan of a Fiat 500, stilt walkers and snack stalls will provide fun and refreshment.
Examples of the Fiat 500, 500C and 500byDiesel will also be on display.
The Big Smile will be open at the following times:
28 August - 12pm - 8pm29 August - 10am - 8pm30 August - 10:30am - 8pm31 August - 10am - 8pm1 September - 10am - 8pm2 September - 10am - 8pm

Honey Club Brighton Friday 24 August 2007 with Philippe Zdar (Cassius)
For the final leg of the Very Punto People UK tour, we touched down in sunny Brighton for the season finale. The venue was the musically renowned ‘Honey Club’ and we were fortunate enough to have very special headline DJ Philippe Zdar, one half of the multi-talented and hugely acclaimed French DJ group Cassius.
For anyone growing up in the 90s, Cassius, along with Daft Park, featured on covers of magazines and newspapers worldwide and were instrumental in the Electronic music movement, while Philippe certainly lived up to his billing as a leading pioneer of this style. His unique blend of electro house certainly had the crowd at the Honey Club dancing to the early hours. With the club situated right on the beach front, you couldn’t have picked a better location to enjoy one of the few great summer evenings we’ve had in the UK this year.
As usual we’d like to thank all the guys and girls at the Honey Club Brighton for looking after us so well and to all of you who made it to the party. I hope you had as great a time as we did! To check out the pictures from the event just click the link below.

Once again a big thank-you to all the venues we have worked with over the last six months, to the great world-renowned DJs who have played for us, and obviously to you the VPP members who have followed and supported us throughout this tour. We’ll no doubt be seeing you again soon with the next batch of VPP events!

Sankeys Manchester Friday 20 July 2007 with Felix da Housecat
Friday 20 July saw the VPP roadshow travel to Manchester and the famous and newly refurbished Sankeys. With a terrible weekend of weather and floods hitting much of the UK, the people of Manchester weren’t deterred and came out in their hundreds to listen to the legendary ‘Felix da Housecat’. Having collaborated with the likes of P Diddy and produced mixes for Madonna, Marilyn Manson, and Nina Simon, Felix is considered one of the best DJs on the planet, and he didn’t fail to live up to the hype surrounding him.
Situated outside of the city centre, Sankeys is a destination-only venue and renowned for the array of talented DJ line-ups it puts on, and this Friday didn’t disappoint. With the great party atmosphere created by the impressive mixes and tunes that Felix was churning out, even though I was working at the event I even managed to make it on the dance floor and ‘bust some moves’.
A big thanks to everyone in Manchester who attended the night, and thanks to Sankeys for all their help with this event. To check out pictures from the event go tohttp://www.verypuntopeople.co.uk/global/index.cfm?fuseaction=main.gallery&ID=05
If you haven’t yet experienced a VPP event then you should try to make it down to Brighton over the Bank Holiday August weekend, when we will be at the famous Honey Club with the massively talented Philippe Zdar (one half of Cassius). Surely a date for your diary… Friday 24 August.

In December 2006 Nick House Entertainment met with Fiat Auto UK at their head office in Slough and together we came up with a proposal for the Fiat Grande Punto.
The idea was to put on up to 12 events across the UK, each with a headline-named ‘house’ DJ, showcasing Fiat and Punto in a cool, sexy and exciting way. The concept was not just to offer our party-goers more than just a one-off party, but to create a ‘community’ of like-minded individuals with one interest at heart - ‘music’!
VERY PUNTO PEOPLE | WEBSITE LAUNCHThe website www.verypuntopeople.co.uk launched in March 2007 while the London Launch party soon followed, held at Neighbourhood nightclub on Saturday 17 March with Seb Fontaine as the headline DJ. This event attracted over 1,400 people, and from this event the website started to become populated by our ‘Very Punto People’ and the online community started to grow.

I can’t deny that project-managing a series of events like this has been fun. I mean, working with the guys at Fiat and partying with the likes of Natalie Imbruglia and Coleen Mcloughlin, plus chilling with all the DJs has been great, andtime has flown by since Very Punto People was given the green light. However, it’s also been a lot of hard work, long hours and a lot of travelling across the country. But I cannot deny that I’m thoroughly looking forward to the next instalment of VPP at Sankeys nightclub in Manchester on Friday 20 July. The buzz around the city has already started and it’s sure to be a great event. Maybe I’ll see you there? If not I’ll be sure to keep you posted on how it went… Remember to check out www.verypuntopeople.co.uk to see all the pictures from the past events, and you can still enter the many great competitions too.

Karbon Glasgow Saturday 23 June 2007 with Dennis Ferrer
On Saturday 23 June 2007 VPP held its 4th event at Karbon nightclub in Glasgow with Dennis Ferrer as our guest DJ. The party was the most highly anticipated event to hit Glasgow for some years and over 1000 people came out in force despite the pouring rain to see what all the fuss and hype around VPP was… and they certainly weren’t disappointed. Regarded as the ‘hottest’ DJ ‘out there’ at the moment, Dennis Ferrer brought the city to a standstill with his unique style and mix of genres.

Regarded as a great event by all who attended the night was a little extra special for one lucky party goer, who after attending the event made a trip to her local Fiat car dealership with her VPP prize lanyard and key to find that she was the lucky winner of a brand new Fiat Grande Punto. The 21 year old lucky girl attended the party as part of a friend’s birthday celebration. After having a great time she held onto her prize key and decided to check to see whether she had one of the winning keys. When told by her local Arnold Clark Fiat dealership that she had won a car she confesses that she was ‘shocked!’, ‘At first I did not believe that I had won the car. I was completely speechless. I was over the moon, still cant believe it today-a brand new Grande Punto-all mine!!’ We’d like to congratulate Laura and hope that she enjoys the Jet Black Grande Punto she has chosen for her VPP prize. For your chance to win a Grande Punto and for a great night out why not come along to the next installment of VPP at Sankeys in Mancheter on Friday 20 July with guest DJ Felix da Housecat. VPP Glasgow winner"I was on a birthday night out with friends at Karbon Nightclub in Glasgow where there was a VVP event happening. When I arrived I was given a car key that had a number on it and was told to visit one of my local Fiat car dealerships to see if I was the winner of a brand new Punto. I actually forgot about the key and it wasn't until over a week later that I found it in my bag and decided to make the trip down to see if I had the winning number and chance my luck. When I got there I took a Punto for a test drive and then the salesman inputted my key number. It was then I was told that I'd won the car. I froze and automatically thought it was a wind-up! It wasn't until my local Fiat dealership called back to confirm I'd won the car that I couldn't believe it and couldn't stop screaming. After an hour or so I was on the phone to Fiat deciding which colour I would like and decided on the black. Unfortunately the car would take 6 weeks but I didn't mind as I was flying out the week after to spend 2 months in New York City. I am studying acting and was out taking a really intensive course. So I had something to look forward to when I came home. Since I have won the car I have already sold my old car (blue Focus Zetec) and cannot wait to step into my new Punto. What an experience."

Wednesday 13 June 2007 at the Round House in Camden Town, London – a unique venue for an extraordinary launch.
The venue itself will give you an idea of how huge this event was… Not only were we introduced to the Bravo – one of the most successful cars in Europe today – but Fiat also announced the launch of their new website. With this website Fiat will lead the automotive industry into a new digital world.
On the night the best of Italian culture was on show: design, glamour, quality and, of course, fabulous people. Every detail of this phenomenal event was influenced by Italian style, creating a most charismatic evening with which to welcome the Bravo into the UK!
